Busan Metropolitan City has selected 118 strategic industry leaders to be supported as a global specialist company. As a result, there are a total of 308 companies, including 92 in the past year and 98 in the year.
The city has strengthened its selection criteria to improve the competitiveness of leading companies in regional economic growth, and announced that it will provide a total of 118 new projects.
Strategic industry leaders have been selected since 2006 to cultivate small- and medium-sized enterprises that will lead the local economy as global specialists. In 2007, there were 478 support companies, but in 2010, the number of support companies increased to 999, thus raising the question of effectiveness. Since then, the city has implemented a three-year certification system for leading companies and has been dropping those that are not competitive.
Newly selected companies are 27 marine industries, 45 converged parts and materials industries, 21 creative and cultural industries, 4 biohealth industries, and 21 knowledge infrastructure services. These companies have more than R & D investment of more than 20 billion won in sales last year, or more than 1% in annual R & D investment or more than 7.5% in average annual sales growth over the past three years. The service industry has more than 2 billion won of sales last year and the other conditions are the same.
Local companies, such as Autonics, Gwangjin Wintech, Unique Rubber, Tank Tech, LeeWon Solutec, Dongwha Entec, Steel Flower, Taewoong, Reno Ind., And Ireal, have also been named as newly designated companies after 3 years certification period. 43 companies including Chun Ho Food, Stauff Korea, Hansol Indec, Hanil Heavy Industries, and Geumgang Logistics were selected as the first companies among the newly designated companies.
The city will provide KRW 60 billion in funding through a leading-company-led ‘Leading-Busan Loan’ ▷ Leading company supporting marketing and customized knowledge services ▷ Global Competitiveness Strengthening Business ▷ Leading Energy Company with KOSPO And 5 billion won in GP-10 project to foster corporations. In addition, there are advantages in ordering various projects and services.
“The companies selected as leading companies have been re-elected after three years of competitiveness,” said Jeong Hyun-min, director general of the economy and industry. “We will nurture leading companies as world class companies in line with the government’s medium- We plan to rigorously select and operate a small number of elite. ”
On the other hand, a ceremony was held at Busan City Hall for the ceremony for the presentation of certificates of leading companies, attended by more than 150 people including Mr. Huh Nam-sik, Busan Mayor, and Ahn Byeong-man of Busan Techno Park.
